Rachel began her violin studies at age 8 and completed her Doctor of Musical Arts in violin performance degree studying with Dr. Won-Bin Yim at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music (UC-CCM) in 2020. She also received her Masters and Bachelors from CCM in fine arts for violin performance and is a certified Suzuki teacher.

Rachel has played with several orchestras in the Cincinnati area, including being a contracted member of Richmond Symphony Orchestra (2016-present), as well as subbing with Ohio Valley Symphony Orchestra and Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.

While attending UC, Rachel was apart of CCM's Concert and Philharmonia orchestras as well as studying with the Ariel String Quartet (quartet in residence). Rachel served as Assistant Concertmaster of Philharmonia for the 2015-2016 school year.

 

Other experiences include teaching private violin lessons 2007-present and taught 4th grade violin at C.O.Harrison Elementary 2011-2015. Rachel also plays for weddings and other special events. In the summer of 2013, Rachel was certified in Every Child Can! and Suzuki Book 1 teaching course under Linda Steig and attended Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival.  She completed Suzuki Book 2 training in the summer of 2014 under Roger Steig. In 2017 Rachel completed the course Suzuki Principles in Action under the direction of Nancy Jackson. Rachel has benefited from multiple scholarships including: Faternal Order of Police (2010), Jane Young Scholarship (2011, 2012), Cincinnati Women's Club (2013), and Wyoming Music Club (2013). She appears as featured violinist on the album "Peoples United" on the song Never Let You Go, available on iTunes. Stacey Woolley, violinist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra was her former teacher before college. Her first teacher was Kathy Anderson followed by Jacquie Fennell. For four years she studied piano with Della Enns.

In high school Rachel was concertmistress of the Oak Hills High School Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Symphonic Orchestra 2007-2010. She participated in the Ohio Music Education Association 2006-2008 and received the top rating each year. Rachel also competed in the National Federation of Music Clubs 2006-2009 and received Unanimous Superior rating for each performance as well as playing in the 2007 Gold Cup recital.
