Just a Note....

Need a violinist? I love to teach! I also gig around the area for weddings, concerts, or other special events. Send me a message and we will get in touch!

Thanks for checking out my website! Here is a bit about my journey of playing violin:

When I was 5 years old, my dad came and got me out of my Sunday school class to hear a violinist play for our church service. I remember sitting on the edge of the pew completely in awe of the beautiful sounds I was hearing. I knew that playing was what I wanted to do with my life- mom and dad just smiled. After 3 years of hearing "I want to play the violin," they finally got me one! The story wouldn't have a perfect ending if I'd not given my dad a hard time because we needed to "run some errands." I told him I had no interest in going but he eventually won that arguement and imagine my surprise when I realized we were suddenly in a violin shop to get my first violin. The violinist I heard that Sunday morning was Kathy Anderson, my first violin teacher for eight years.

Ever since then I've been blessed in every way. I've had four amazing violin teachers and a wonderful piano teacher who have all encouraged and inspired me. I'm honored to pass on their wisdom to the students I have now. All my teachers taught me so much more than music. They taught me that relationships are the most valuable thing we have in this world. My favorite thing about playing the violin is the opportunity to learn and share the beauty of music with others. It has taken me a very long time to enjoy the journey, especially realizing that the most important thing is my love for music and the people I'm sharing it with. There may always be a phrase I wish I could have made more musical, a technique to still be mastered, or a performance I wish I could re-do but the beauty of music is that it is the human soul expressed in the most vulnerable way. I believe this is something to be celebrated! God's gifts to us are endless, and I love finding as many ways as I can to reach others through music- whether it's a lesson, a performance, or even a conversation. In my continuing journey I'm excited to see what other opportunities there will be to develop relationships with other people who share the same passion for music as I do.
